Research report on the working conditions and indicators of forced labor among Haitian migrant construction workers in the Dominican Republic, commissioned by the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), coordinated by ICF International, and carried out by OBMICA.

The study covered the cities of Santo Domingo, Santiago and Bavaro/Punta Cana, where 135 worker interviews and 75 stakeholder and informal expert interviews were conducted. The research explores four topics: (1) pathways into construction work, including recruitment; (2) working conditions and employee-employer relationship; (3) living conditions and indebtedness; and (4) effects of the 2010 Haiti earthquake on Haitian migration for construction work in the DR.
